Narnia is a classic fantasy children's story by C. S. Lewis, adapted here for a short-form single-act stage play. The cast of about 30 pupils ranged from 6-8 years old.
Aslan was commissioned by a professional sculptor, and featured prominently above the centre-stage wardrobe throughout the play. We had pre-recorded voice lines for him played back via QLab exclusively through his own monitor, positioned just behind him. We also had a DMX controllable LED inside his head, manually flickering the light as he was "speaking". These techniques gave his presence more life and a feeling of omnipotence.
Equipment
All lighting programmed and operated with ETC Eos Nomad. All music and sound effects edited in Logic Pro. For essentially all of the children in the cast, this was their first time ever being on stage, so RF omnidirectional microphones were hidden around various set pieces to provide vocal reinforcement.
