Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street is a 1979 musical by Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler set in 1840's London. This classic musical was adapted for this production to work with a daily rotating lead cast as well as over 50 extras.
The set was designed and approved with extreme minimalism as the goal, featuring bare wooden frames and structures. Character deaths were also more "stylised" with red, flowing silk fabrics and ghostly, slow-moving departures from the stage.
